The UPSILON SIGMA PHI HONORS 2019 UNO AWARDEES.<\/p>\n

The Upsilon Sigma Phi Alumni Association bestowed its Upsilonian Noble & Outstanding (UNO) award on eight Upsilonians at its 17th Biennial Congress recently held at the UP-BGC campus.<\/p>\n

The UNO awardees included legal luminary Estelito P. Mendoza \u201847, prominent businessman & property developer Jorge L. Araneta \u201853, outstanding educator & performing artist Antonio O. Mabesa \u201854, global social advocate Edgar C. Gumabon \u201858, the Father of Philippine Independent Cinema Eric O. De Guia \u201859 aka Kidlat Tahimik, Upsilon Centennial Chair Pedro N. Dy-Liacco, Jr. \u201865, PR maven Danilo A. Gozo \u201867, and lawyer\/Brigadier General (Res) Peter C. Suchianco \u201883.<\/p>\n

\"\"The UNO award is the highest honor the Upsilon can grant to its members. Since its inception in 1985, the award has only been conferred to sixty-four outstanding Upsilonians. The awardee\u2019s lifetime achievements must fulfill the fraternity\u2019s FIVE IMPERATIVES (Brotherhood, Integrity, Excellence, Leadership & Service) of membership in the most excellent manner possible.<\/p>\n

In addition, four fellows were given the Luminary award in recognition of their outstanding fulfillment of one of the UNO imperatives. They were: journalist Eduardo I. Lee \u201853, lawyer Manuel S. Crudo, Jr. \u201856, DVM\/IT expert Jose C. Rabago \u201872, and posthumous awardee Wilfredo R. Macan \u201875.<\/p>\n
